We both discovered blues in 2018 and immediately fell in love with the dance. We find blues one of the most beautiful musical genres of all time, it moves us both in a profound way.
Together we love exploring different blues idioms and focus on culture, history and black values in our dancing journey. Texas Shuffle and Slow Drag have recently been dearest to our hearts. And also ballroomin - athletic, juicy, grounded! In our dancing we focus on groovy shapefulness and cherish playful independence within quality connection.
We have been sharing our blues journey with local community for 3 years now and have recently begun gaining international experience. We are also still learning and researching and don’t plan to stop. Living in Warsaw and being cultural outsiders, we are aware that we need to dig deep in order to stay in the process of finding out what blues actually has been. And the deeper we scratch, the deeper it goes, so we keep on scratching, learning and exploring. Let's explore together!
Mateusz
Mateusz has movement background - before dancing, he trained parkour, running and martial arts. He has been fascinated with hip hop culture from an early age, which now influences his understanding of dancing as a form of cultural expression.
Kasia
Kasia discovered the magic of movement later in life and explored various movement options. Having graduated from linguistic studies and now working as a jewelry designer, Kasia sees blues both as a language — a way of communication and self expression — and as an art form.
