Ewan is a blues music and dance nerd from Edinburgh, Scotland!
Adoring all the various styles and rhythms of blues music, Ewan loves to DJ for dancers. Especially when he finds just the right song to keep the energy flowing whilst still surprising the room.
In 2017, after 3 years of regularly dancing a mix of fusion, swing and blues, Ewan started to truly fall in love with blues music. He proceeded to watch every documentary on the topic he could find and consume hundreds of albums from the most famous blues legends of the past to the lesser known names keeping the traditions of the music alive today.
His favourite artists include the mesmerising voice of Etta James, the groovy piano rhumbas of Professor Longhair, the laidback delivery of Percy Mayfield, the sophisticated cool of Catherine Russell, the gorgeous, soulful guitar solos of Freddie King and the legendary dreamy brass of Preservation Hall Jazz Band.
When DJing he loves picking 1 or 2 specific blues styles/subgenres and then catering to what the crowd is feeling within that vibe.
