The Storyville Ragtimers were formed in Athens in 2015.
Their common references are their love for New Orleans, Storyville (the New Orleans neighborhood where Jazz was born), the «sporting houses» of Basin’ Street, «Lulu White» and the professors who played there, the parade bands with the second liners and the Mississippi riverboat bands. Their influences include Louis Armstrong, Jelly Roll Morton, Bix Beiderbecke, Eddie Lang, Fats Waller, Original Dixieland Jazz Band, etc.
The «Storyville Ragtimers» is the only band of its kind in Greece as they play authentic New Orleans Jazz of the early 20th century.
