What did we do to be so green and blue?

Since the beginning, blues artists have addressed environmental issues through their music. Great floods, wild winds, deforestation, pollution and war are just some of the topics covered by artists like Bessie Smith, Muddy Waters, Lightnin’ Hopkins, Koko Taylor and many others…

Through a history and music listening presentation, Jamica will guide the audience through this neglected lyrical theme using their extensive knowledge that draws on over two decades of studying the environment, history, sociology, and culture.
